This regulation, officially known as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), was adopted by the European Union and will enter into force on August 12, 2026. It introduces far-reaching changes aimed at reducing packaging waste, improving recycling, and promoting the reuse of packaging.
