GreenLifeDays 2025 in Wrocław: The Future of the Packaging Industry in the Spirit of Sustainability and PPWR

Location: Wrocław

On October 16–17, 2025, the fourth edition of GreenLifeDays took place in Wrocław – one of the most inspiring industry events dedicated to sustainable packaging, the circular economy, and the latest legal frameworks, including the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) and EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility). As in previous years, the event was organized by Verpa Folie Wrocław in cooperation with the Creative Packaging Group (CPG), bringing together numerous representatives from the packaging and recycling industries.

The main topics of GreenLifeDays 2025 included PPWR, EPR, ESG, and CSRD reporting.
Participants represented a wide range of sectors — from food and hygiene products to construction, textiles, and pellet manufacturing — as well as experts in law, sustainability, recycling, CSR, and packaging safety. Discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities of transforming the packaging industry toward more ecological and circular solutions.

First-Hand Insights – Experts on the Most Important Industry Changes

The conference featured numerous presentations and panel discussions led by recognized industry specialists:

  • Katarzyna Krzakiewicz (J.S. Hamilton)“Safety of Packaging Containing Recycled Materials”
The expert in packaging testing for food contact presented legal and research requirements for introducing PCR recyclates into packaging.

  • Jakub Teler (Maruszkin Law Office, CPG)“Packaging Law: PPWR, Deposit System, Textiles – Overview of Upcoming Changes”
He discussed key legislative updates in the EU and Poland, focusing on the new PPWR regulation, the deposit return system, and the extension of producer responsibility to new sectors, including textiles.

  • Konrad Nowakowski (PIOiRO, CPG)“EPR – New Requirements for Entrepreneurs under the UC100 Draft Act”
The expert in waste management and ecodesign explained the practical aspects of implementing Extended Producer Responsibility and its impact on companies and municipalities.

  • Demetriusz Janowski (Saica Group Poland)“Omnibus – Which CSRD Regulations Will Actually Affect Us”
His presentation covered new ESG reporting obligations under the CSRD Directive, outlining which companies will be affected, implementation timelines, and how to optimize reporting processes.

Speakers discussed practical approaches to implementing new recycling, waste management, and reporting regulations, providing valuable insights on how companies can prepare for the upcoming changes that will soon affect all packaging sectors.

Visit to Verpa Folie Wrocław Production Facility

A highlight of the program was the visit to the Verpa production plant in Krępice, where participants had the opportunity to observe the production process of recycled-content films and the operation of an integrated recycling system.

The tour demonstrated how innovation, research, and environmental responsibility come together in practice, creating modern, efficient, and sustainable packaging solutions.

Sharing Knowledge and Building a Sustainable Future

Once again, GreenLifeDays 2025 proved to be an invaluable platform for exchanging knowledge and experience.
Company representatives, technical experts, and sustainability specialists engaged in direct discussions and collaboration, strengthening the development of the circular economy within the packaging industry.
