Career Orientation at Verpa: FADZ MACHBAR Workshop Inspires Students to Explore Technology and Modern Manufacturing
How does a 3D printer work? What can modern laser technology achieve? And what happens behind the scenes of a manufacturing company?
Students from an 8th-grade class explored these questions during the FADZ MACHBAR Workshop held in our Innovation Workshop in Weidhausen. We are proud to support FADZ’s commitment to inspiring young people and opening our doors to provide practical insights into modern manufacturing, innovative technologies, and technical careers.
Company Tour: Discovering Modern Packaging Production at Verpa
After a welcome by Sandra Englich from our management team, the morning began with a guided tour of our company. Together with Benjamin Blum, the students explored our production facilities and learned how our Verpalin films are manufactured, which processes are involved, and how finished products reach our customers.
For many participants, it was their first visit to an industrial manufacturing company. Their curiosity was evident as they asked numerous questions about machinery, production processes, and technical professions.
FADZ MACHBAR Program: Hands-On Experience with 3D Printing and Laser Technology
Following the company tour, the practical part of the day began with the FADZ MACHBAR Workshop. Using 3D printers and laser technology, the students had the opportunity to experience modern manufacturing techniques firsthand while building their own miniature greenhouse.
The project combined 3D-printed plastic components, laser-cut wooden bases, and our Verpalin film. Finally, each greenhouse was planted with cress and taken home as a souvenir.
After all the creativity and experimentation, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved pizza from our Verpa pizzeria.
Apprenticeships and Internships at Verpa
We were especially pleased by the students’ strong interest in our apprenticeship and internship opportunities. Many wanted to learn more about career paths and vocational training at Verpa.
We currently offer apprenticeships as:
- Machine and Plant Operator
- Plastics and Rubber Technologist
- Industrial Clerk
- Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering
- Warehouse Logistics Specialist
Students who would like to gain practical experience can also complete an internship with us at any time, regardless of the department. This gives young people the opportunity to discover their interests and explore different career paths.
School Classes Welcome – Career Orientation Through Hands-On Technology
The direct exchange between schools and companies plays an important role in career orientation. That is why we are always happy to welcome students from grades 8, 9, and 10.
To make visits as easy as possible, we take care of the entire organization—from bus transportation to on-site support. Together with FADZ, we want to inspire young people to explore technology, experience technical professions firsthand, and discover exciting career opportunities. Because those who experience technology in practice often discover talents that shape their future careers.
