Regional, Sustainable & Healthy – Our Emmer Grain
At Verpa, our focus is not only on our products, but also on the environment, the region, and our employees. That’s why we make sustainable use of the land surrounding our company and cultivate emmer grain – an ancient cereal with many benefits.
Emmer is rich in fiber, easy to digest, and contains valuable minerals such as magnesium, iron, and zinc. Its nutty flavor makes it easy to incorporate into a balanced diet. In addition, emmer is robust, low-maintenance, and requires less fertilizer and water than modern grains – a win for both the environment and the climate.
The cultivation is carried out in close cooperation with a local farmer, and the harvested grain is freshly milled in a regional mill. We provide the high-quality flour to our employees, contributing to a healthy, regional diet.
This project demonstrates the value of regional cooperation: together with the farmer and the mill, we work hand in hand to produce sustainable products. We are proud to set an example for sustainability, regionality, and health in this way – and we are delighted that our employees value this commitment so highly.
