5th Edition of the GreenLife Days in Wrocław

Exchange across the value chain: shaping sustainability together

The event brought together representatives from industry, recycling, consulting and research, as well as experts in packaging legislation. This made the GreenLife Days a true meeting point for diverse perspectives across the entire value chain.

Participants emphasized that the exchange with stakeholders from other sectors was just as valuable as the conference program itself.

Conference focus: PPWR, recycling and sustainable packaging solutions

The first day took place at the Hotel Haston Old Town and was designed as a classic conference format with discussion panels.

The program included, among others:

• Sustainability from both global and local perspectives
• Packaging safety in the context of PPWR and recycling
• Use of PCR materials in film production
• Circular economy from the recycler’s perspective
• Practical implementation of ESG strategies

The combination of technological expertise, regulatory knowledge and practical experience ensured that the content remained highly relevant. Many topics quickly evolved into concrete discussions around real-world challenges and practical solutions.

A key highlight of the event was the contribution of invited experts, who shed light on different aspects of the transformation within the packaging industry:

• Katarzyna Krzakiewicz (J.S. Hamilton) spoke about packaging safety and the relationship between regulatory requirements and recyclability.
• Krystian Kopyć (Duma Recycling) presented the circular economy from a recycler’s perspective, highlighting both opportunities and challenges.
• Konrad Nowakowski explained the current status of the PPWR and how companies can prepare for upcoming requirements.
• Magdalena Dembińska (Bullseye Consulting) led an interactive ESG workshop, demonstrating the interdependencies across the entire value chain.

Open dialogue on sustainable packaging instead of a traditional conference

Many participants highlighted that the GreenLife Days stood out from traditional conferences due to their unique atmosphere. The event was characterized by open exchange, numerous questions and practical discussions.

Hands-on experience: production, recycling and quality at Verpa

On the second day, participants visited the production site of Verpa Folie Wrocław.

There, they were able to experience firsthand how modern PE films are produced and which solutions are implemented in the areas of recycling, circular economy and quality assurance. The tour was complemented by individual discussions addressing specific practical questions.

Conclusion: PPWR and sustainability as key drivers of the packaging industry

The GreenLife Days 2026 clearly demonstrated that sustainable development has become a central topic in the packaging industry.

Regulations such as the PPWR will significantly shape the market in the coming years – both in terms of materials and business models.

At the same time, it became clear that innovation emerges where collaboration, knowledge exchange and open dialogue take place.
