Privacy Policy                                                   As of February 5, 2019

For us, data is the basis for being able to provide an excellent service. However, our most important asset is the trust of our clients. Protecting client data and using it only in the way our clients expect us to is our top priority. As a matter of course, we comply with the legal provisions on data protection. Furthermore, it is important to us that you always know when we store data, which data this is and how we use it.

About the Website

The use of our website is generally possible without having to provide personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your explicit consent.

Contact Form

On our websites, you can enter personal data via contact forms. If you use the contact form, we collect and store the data you enter in the input screen (for instance last name, first name, e-mail address). Such data is not passed on to third parties. We use the data exclusively to process and answer your inquiry. The legal basis for the processing in case of consent is Art. 6 (1)(a) of GDPR. If your request serves to prepare
the conclusion of a contract, Art. 6 (1)(b) of GDPR is an additional legal basis. We use Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) for encrypted data transmission. We would like to point out that data transmission via the Internet (for instance communication by e-mail) could be subject to security gaps. A complete protection of the data against unauthorized access by third parties is unfortunately not possible.

Online Application

You can apply on our websites or by e-mail or letter. If you apply, we collect and store the data that you enter into the input screen or that you send to us. Your data will be forwarded to the relevant departments for processing your application. There will be no further use or forwarding. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1)(b) of GDPR. If we cannot offer you a position, we will store your data for a maximum of 6 months after the end of the application process.

Data Collection and Use

In the course of the business relationship, we collect and store personal data such as first name, surname, e-mail address, office address, telephone number (landline and/or mobile) as well as information necessary for the execution of the business relationship (including correspondence and invoicing).
In accordance with Art. 6 (1)(1)(b) of GDPR, data processing is necessary for the purposes stated for an appropriate processing of business transactions and for the mutual fulfilment of obligations. In addition, we will use the data for occasional information to inform you about new products, offers, developments, special offers and events. You are of course entitled to object to this use of your data at any time.

Data Security

Personal data is processed exclusively on computer centers and computers protected by security technologies and complying with industry standards (for instance firewalls, password protection, access controls, etc.).

Data Security

Personal data is processed exclusively on computer centers and computers protected by security technologies and complying with industry standards (for instance firewalls, password protection, access controls, etc.).
We guarantee that all employees involved in the authorized processing of personal data and other individuals working for us have committed themselves to confidentiality or are subject to an appropriate statutory duty of confidentiality.

Data Transfer

We transmit personal data only to external parties in order to fulfil our contractual or legal obligations.
We are legally obliged to transmit data to state authorities, e.g. tax authorities, supervisory authorities and criminal prosecution authorities. The transmission of data for the fulfilment of contractual obligations includes, for example, the forwarding of the recipient's address to a commissioned transport company. We assure you that we will not pass on your personal data to third parties unless you have given us your prior consent.
When transferring your personal data to external bodies in third countries, i.e. outside the EU or the EEA, we ensure that these bodies treat your personal data with the same care as within the EU or the EEA. We only transfer personal data to third countries where the EU Commission has confirmed an adequate level of protection or where we ensure the careful handling of personal data through contractual agreements or other appropriate guarantees.

Video Surveillance

We use surveillance cameras to protect our premises. Within the framework of video surveillance, video recordings are processed based on Art. 6 (1)(f) of GDPR (justified interest). The processing of the video recordings is carried out exclusively for safeguarding quality requirements under food law, safeguarding domestic rights, and for the possible investigation of burglary/theft.
The data will be forwarded within Verpa and its affiliated companies to the competent authorities entrusted with the processing. We employ our own staff to monitor the video surveillance system. We use external service providers for the maintenance of the video surveillance system, whereby access to the video surveillance system or stored video recordings cannot be excluded. Any further use or passing on of the video recordings shall only take place to the extent that this is necessary within the framework of a possible criminal prosecution. In this case, the recipients are the competent law enforcement authorities.
The stored video recordings shall be deleted after fourteen days.

Contract Processors - Subcontractors

Service providers and subcontractors commissioned by us who may have access to personal data are contractually obliged to handle the data with care. For the maintenance of our own IT systems, we employ external IT service companies, which may have access to your personal data within the scope of their activities. The same applies to the hosting provider.
Employees of banks who manage your and our accounts have access to personal data. Employees of Google and the operators of the social media plug-ins as described below may have access to your personal information.
We expressly point out that the way in which data is processed by Google and the providers of the social plug-ins is outside our area of responsibility.

Credit Assessment

Occasionally, we also use information about you from other sources and add it to our information about your customer account. We reserve the right to obtain information about your payment history from third parties (e.g. credit agencies) in order to offer you certain payment options. Your order and payment data are used for the purpose of an internal evaluation of the payment behavior for further orders.

Storage Period

We only process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations towards you. Your data will be blocked or deleted once our contractual obligations have ceased to apply.
In addition, there may be legal storage obligations, for example commercial or fiscal storage obligations (for instance Commercial Code, Tax Code). If such storage obligations exist, we block or delete your data at the end of these storage obligations.

Automated Decision Making and Profile Building

Zur Begründung und Durchführung der Geschäftsbeziehung nutzen wir grundsätzlich keine vollautomatische Entscheidungsfindung gem. Art. 22 DSGVO.

In principle, we do not use fully automatic decision-making pursuant to Art. 22 of GDPR for the establishment and implementation of the business relationship. We partially process your data automatically with the aim of evaluating certain personal aspects (profiling).
We use profiling to provide you with targeted information and advice on products. However, we would also like to point out that it cannot be ruled out that a social network may use such software.
The evaluation of your usage behavior is carried out using Google Analytics.

Your Rights

You have the following legal rights against us with regard to your personal data: You have the right to request confirmation as to whether we process personal data relating to you. If this is the case, you have the right to request information about this personal data and other information, for instance the processing purposes, the recipients and the planned duration of storage or the criteria for determining the duration.
You have the right to demand the correction of incorrect data without any delay. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, you have the right to request the completion of incomplete data.
You have the right to having data deleted if processing is not necessary. This is the case, for example, if your data is no longer necessary for the original purposes, if you have withdrawn your declaration of consent under data protection law or if the data has been unlawfully processed. You have the right to limit the processing, e.g. if you are of the opinion that the personal data is incorrect.
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, common and machine-readable format.
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of certain personal data concerning you for reasons arising from your particular situation.

However, this does not affect the legality of the processing carried out until the revocation. You also have the right to appeal to a data protection supervisory authority, for example if you are of the opinion that the data processing does not comply with data protection regulations.
